Viacom Pulling MTV, Nickelodeon; What Will I Watch?? :(

Now I know you guys remember the post about Warner Music Group and Youtube but this one has the potential to be even bigger than that. Ok, so Viacom is a HUGE company that own many things including the networks that produce most of the music and movies that we all watch and enjoy today….So they have a lot of power OK!!!!! Viacom is the second largest cable provider in the U.S. behind Comcast. So imagine my surprise when I read they are threatening to pull entire networks like MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and sixteen other channels off of their network if a certain deal is not reached by tonight!!!!!!!! :/ Nervous Nervous…..Because can you just imagine that….Like sixteen of your favorite channels just gone….Poof. This may see your or your child’s favorite network shows like Spongebob Square Pants taken off the air completely. This decision could effect 13 MILLION people. So ask yourself, will you be affected???
Of course the deal is over what else but money. Viacom wants more money from each channel if that channel wants to stay on the air. Viacom is pointing the finger at Time Warner about how it has been undervalued for working with the company, and Warner is shooting back saying that the biggest shows on cable as of right now are re-runs. And that most of Viacom’s shows have low ratings. And that Viacom gets all of the money from these shows and does not share them with Warner. Interesting….It all sounds like corporate blackmail…By Viacom asking for this it could increase cable bills to it’s customers as well and I know nobody wants that. OK!!!!!!!!!!! Shoot I have too many bills already.
Other possible networks that might be affected by this are: LOGO, BET, TV LAND, Everything associated with Nickelodeon like Nick Jr. and TEENick, VH1 and CMT. Ok these are all of my music channels I would die of this happened JUST DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blagojevich Appoints, Rush Defends!!!!
Well, I am sure by now that all of you guys know the story about Rod Blagojevich trying to sell the President’s seat in the Senate a while back and his crazy self got CAUGHT!!!!! Anyway, now he is back in the political limelight as he stated in the video below. He has appointed a man by the name of Roland Burris who is an African-American (and I will explain why that matters in a moment) to fill the next Senate seat for Illinois….Now it has also been reported that Blagojevich’s picks, whoever it was going to be, would NOT be considered by the Democratic Leaders seriously because of the charges that Blagojevich is up against….Now many things are not quite clear in my mind….If Mr. Burris knew about these charges (which he would have to unless he is currently living under a rock) why would he accept this offer? Doesn’t he know or understand that everyone is going to be looking at him kind of sideways? Will this appointment that has been made even go through with the leaders who have already denied Blagojevich’s offer????

So here is a little bio about this Roland Burris
He was born August 3, 1937, 71, and he is currently a politician that was washed up. He first made ground in politics when he became the first African-American to be elected to a statewide office in Illinois in the year 1979. He was the comptroller for Illinois from “79″ to “91″. A comptroller (because I know I had to look this up) is someone who controls or oversees all of the money that the state gets. He was also the Attorney General of Illinois from “91″ to “95″. After these feats he tried to run for other offices but failed every time. Now he runs a political consulting firm called Burris & Lebed Consulting, LLC.
There have been many reviews about him on several websites and I am getting a mixed feeling about him….Some say he is a good honorable man and some say he is a little tightly wound if you get my drift…

Now my question is why did he branch off into a racial territory. No one was talking about anything of that nature at all but he just had to throw it in there…I don’t know maybe it’s just me. But this will be an interesting story I know it is not the last we will hear about it…… 
Coldplay Steal Hit Record?!?!?!?
Coldplay is being taken to court!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are being sued by guitarist Joe Satriani because he feels that they have stolen his song…. The Coldplay mega hit “Viva La Vida” does sound an awful bit like Satriani’s “If I Could Fly” Now I am a HUGE Coldplay fan. I think everything they have done is slight of genius but this video I found is extremely interesting…..Gosh you got to love Youtube. At first I did not believe this until this guy on the video (that is posted below) explained it….And I have to say Coldplay might have a fight on their hands!!!!

Former Sopranos Star Kills Himself!!

John Costelloe shot himself in the head and died. Costelloe (the man sitting down in the picture) was most famous for his role as “Johnny Cakes” on the popular tv show “The Sopranos”. He appeared on the sixth season. He was a former firefighter before he accepted the role to play Johnny and this is so sad 
He was found in his own home in Brooklyn New York on December 18th dead. Police were contacted because I guess his family was worried because they had not heard from Costelloe…..I will keep you updated on this as this story continues to develop.

There have been serval reports floating aroung that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are getting a DIVORCE!!!!! This makes me so upset because I thought this one was going to last. And I guess it did last by Lopez’s standards. At least she kept this one for a good amount of time. Unlike the others these two seemed happy and have been at this marriage thing now for almost four years…Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now some of the blogs I visit are saying or reporting that this may be false so let us keep our fingers crossed. I would just feel so bad for Mrs. Lopez if this sort of thing happened to her again…

Ok so Ciara has remade Beyonce’s Diva track…Oh Lord I can just hear all of the Beyonce fans now!!!! But I like her version as well. It is different but still good. Ciara is being really smart though because she is releasing a mix-tape (like most rappers do) before her actual CD comes out….Now this is a good idea for her and I do not hear about a lot of singers doing this…Will Ciara start a new trend??? Who do you feel did this DIVA track justice. Ciara or Beyonce.

Middle East Turmoil Picks Up Where it Left Off

Here we go once again..I am just so glad that things like this do not happen in America because personally, I would not know how to deal with it at all. As reported by every news media outlet in the country at the moment, the people of Palestine and Israel are once again fighting…I guess this will never get old to them. There are so many things that happen in this place that most of us just can not understand.. In Gaza Strip which is a popular city in Palestine, bombings have started to occur once again. A Palestinian political group named, Hamas is getting bombed by Israeli forces. The worst thing about this entire ordeal is that these attacks started in broad daylight and continued into the early evening hours. Saturday, this bombing campaign caused the biggest one day death total in recent history, killing 250 people alone.
Update: today as I read the New York Times I see that the death toll has risen and this was updated this morning at 6:14 a.m. Can you imagine not being able to get any type of sleep because of a bombing that was happening right outside your door. Or not being able to sleep because you have nothing to sleep on because your house is in a pile of bricks. Americans complain if we cannot get rest because there are too many cars on the road….So let us all take a look at the story of the people in Israel and Palestine and be thankful that we do not have to live in such extreme conditions.

This all started because Israelis are trying to force Hamas (the Political group) to end it’s rocket barrage into Israel. Apparently, after Gaza was bombed, Hamas started to fire bombs into southern Israel as an act of defense. This type of bombing could take as little as days or weeks according to several leaders in Palestine and Israel. It just seems these two groups are determined to have things there way. Even at the expense of their own people. The thing that is also chilling is that some leaders are talking about encouraging suicide bombings once again. This has not taken place since 2005. I would hate to wake up tomorrow and have to report on that as well.
Taylor is Still Tops on Album Chart

The Billboard 200 Music Chart (which is updated every Thursday has had one thing missing from it for most of 2008. Someone who is standing tall at the number 1 spot CONSISTENTLY. Well this person seems come in an unlikely form (at least in my eyes) Taylor Swift may end up having one of the best selling albums of 2008. I say this because ever since her album hit stores they have been selling like Bob Evans pancakes on a Sunday morning. This is so crazy because Swift is on what I like to call the “come up” in Country music. Because she is not just yet a superstar but is gently hanging on the cusp of it. With this latest effort titled “Fearless” she is showing that she has the staying power legends are made. Even with a market like the one the music industry is in today, she is selling 200 to 300 thousand copies a week CONSISTENTLY. This has been a consistent thing since she came out. Now her album is very good, I like it a lot but, she is just wiping the floor with Britney and Beyonce’s sales and this week she stopped debuts from the likes of Keyshia Cole, Jamie Foxx and Anthony Hamilton dead in their tracks showing them all that she is currently the artist to beat on the Billboard Charts.
In other news Beyonce is tops again on the Hot 100 Chart as Single Ladies (put a ring on it) Reigns supreme for the thrid week overall

There are reports floating around that are confirming that two of the best looking people on earth are tying the good ole knot…Sometime about the Holiday’s makes everyone just want to shack up. Do I make you Randy baby!!! Do I!!! LOL!!! Oh Austin Powers, But anywho, Yes it is being reported that Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, who have been an item for a while now, have decided to take their relationship to the next level. Tom supposedly popped the HUGE question on a private plane and Bundchen said yes. Now Now, hold your horses because among the research I did some people are saying that this is not necessarily a legitimate thing just yet. So we all will just have to wait a while to see if this plays out. If these two are engaged I am happy for them and wish them a world of runways and football fields!!! Gosh, can you just imagine the offspring??? How unfair
