Well I don’t know if you guys heard or not but Paris Hilton was robbed for more than 2 Million dollars in her jewelry and other items…..Yikes!!!! That is a rough one to take!!!! It happened early Friday morning and luckily Miss. Hilton was not there at the time…..Her Mother and family are just grateful that Paris, herself, is ok at this point…….Even though Paris admitted that she was a little devastated by the robbery and that the items that were stolen had extreme sentimental value to her, everyone is just happy that she is fine…….

Today more has leaked on this story. Now Hilton thinks that she may know who has robbed her stating, “whoever did this, has definitely been there (to her house) before.” And another thing Hilton said was that the jewelry that was stolen from her was given to her by her Grandmother…..This is sad but on the upside these recent events have forced Hilton to beef up her security…….She is quoted by E Online stating, ““We have three security guards there and a 24-hour guard who is always on my property,” she said. “We have the alarm on, the dogs we have, the guards with the gun, so, no one is going to be coming into my house.” Home girl is not playing OOOOOOkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!! As Economy Worsens so Does Shoplifting!!!!

December 24, 2008 at 8:29 pm (In The News) (, )

There are stories that are being reported today by various sources that shoplifting has started to go up ever since the United States declared a recession…..A poll was done by the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), among some of the top retailers in the country and most said there has seen an increase in stealing within their stores…..Times are really getting rough out here for people and i guess some feel they have no other way to get things…..This does NOT excuse them but I am just trying to make some sense out of it all….These same retailers said they have also seen a huge jump in organized retail crime as well…..This is when criminals go to various stores and distractt owners so the others can make out with merchandise…..This usually happens in groups……

Economic Crisis Continues

December 24, 2008 at 7:30 pm (How I'm Feeling at the Moment, In The News) (, )

This Holiday season people are deciding to buy more practical gifts for there children…..Parents are out buying lunch boxes, backpacks or other things that there child or children might need in the near future…..I was in a Rite-Aid during the Thanksgiving break and saw a women tell a man this was not her year to cook Thanksgiving dinner. At first I was puzzled by these statement then the conversation continued…..The gentlemen said “Why Not” and she repeated “This is just not my year” There was a look that came over her face that almost seemed as if she was trying her hardest in that single moment not to cry at the workplace….This expression said it all and was my first look at how the economic crisis is affecting people.

I read an article just yesterday in the paper that explained how students that come home to try to get a job over the winter break are having a tough time getting the jobs that are usually there during this time of year because working adults that are or have been working for years and years at companies. These adults are being laid off by their jobs left and right. So they are taking the jobs at “The Gap” or “Safeway” or Wal-Mart in order to keep up with their financial troubles…..

These various stories show how the economy is crumbling before our very eyes. This economic crisis is slowly starting to affect things we have never seen it affect before……Car companies are losing their minds because of the low demand they are receiving this holiday season….It has also been noted on several news stations that attendance at the malls this year during the Christmas season have been a little lower than usual……..So we shall see how this will play out

Economy effecting blockbusters????

December 24, 2008 at 6:55 pm (In The News, Pop Culture, Uncategorized) ()

The series of The Chronicles of Narina, which has put out two solid movies that have both gone to number one on the box office is getting the big ole boot from Disney……According to the Hollywood Reporter, Disney’s departure is based on “budgetary and logistical reasons,” though reps from both parties did not add any extra comment. Now in order for these films to be released Walden Media (who are behind the making of these movies) will have to find some other company to produce them…… The main reason these films are not being backed so heavily by Disney is because of the numbers that the box office has shown for fantasy movies as of late Narina has a budget of $200 Million to make the third movie but the second only produced $141 million in the United States alone…..So maybe this was the right move for Disney……The only movies that are still doing well in this market are the Harry Potter flicks. Mr. Potter is still the king of this genre and doesn’t look like he is willing to relinquish that crown anytime soon….
