Tornado Hits and Holds Woman’s Daughter in the Air
This is a cool story but kind of sad at the same time….
In a little town in Oklahoma called Lone-Grove, a tornado hit on Tuesday evening shaking a town that is not used to a big fuss. So far officials have found eight bodies and they have not finished searching just yet. Linda Hartman, who is one of the survivors of the storm, took her family and got into their spot in a closet in order to stay safe while the storm blew over. In this process her daughter was suspended in the air because the storm tore the roof off of the house. The family banned together to hold on to Hartman’s daughter so she would not be carried away by the storm. This is a great example of what will can do to a human being. It could have been easy to let the daughter go because the family put themselves in danger by trying to hold on to Hartman’s little girl…..Here are some clips from this article …..MSNBC.com reports
And then there was Lana Hartman’s family, who did what they were supposed to do Tuesday evening when the twister hit the small southern Oklahoma town of Lone Grove: She, her two daughters, three grandchildren and two friends hid in a closet.
The storm that killed at least eight people nearly claimed a ninth when it blew part of the roof off Hartman’s house and lifted one of her daughters into the air.
Everyone grabbed the woman to prevent her from being sucked out of the house and blown away.
“We held onto each other and did a lot of praying,” Hartman’s friend Carole McFarland said.
After the storm passed, they walked out of what was left of the house and saw debris everywhere. Around town Wednesday, trees were uprooted, cars had been flung around like toys and all that was visible of some mobile homes Wednesday were the cinder blocks they had sat on.
“I was in shock, I think I still am,” Hartman said. “We’re alive, that’s all that matters.”
Some people were killed by flying debris. One man died when a pickup truck fell on him. Another woman was found injured but alive beneath an overturned mobile home.

Judges Jailing Minors for Money!?!?!?!
Two judges in WILKES-BARRE, Pa, have been taking money over the years to send minors to youth detention centers even when the youth have only had minor offenses. I mean this is sick. These children have done little things that no one was really hurt over yet because of our capitalistic system, the lives of these children are being delayed because of basic human greed…Here are some clips from this article on MSNBC.com and after the clips will be the link for the entire article….Enjoy
In one of the most shocking cases of courtroom graft on record, two Pennsylvania judges have been charged with taking millions of dollars in kickbacks to send teenagers to two privately run youth detention centers.
“I’ve never encountered, and I don’t think that we will in our lifetimes, a case where literally thousands of kids’ lives were just tossed aside in order for a couple of judges to make some money,” said Marsha Levick, an attorney with the Philadelphia-based Juvenile Law Center, which is representing hundreds of youths sentenced in Wilkes-Barre.
Prosecutors say Luzerne County Judges Mark Ciavarella and Michael Conahan took $2.6 million in payoffs to put juvenile offenders in lockups run by PA Child Care LLC and a sister company, Western PA Child Care LLC. The judges were charged on Jan. 26 and removed from the bench by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court shortly afterward.
Among the offenders were teenagers who were locked up for months for stealing loose change from cars, writing a prank note and possessing drug paraphernalia. Many had never been in trouble before. Some were imprisoned even after probation officers recommended against it.
Many appeared without lawyers, despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark 1967 ruling that children have a constitutional right to counsel.
